We're on the lookout for an experienced System Administrator to oversee servers in compliance with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) policies for Linux and Windows-based systems. If you are a proactive problem solver with experience in installing, patching, upgrading, and troubleshooting servers, as well as building new infrastructure and solving complex CI/CD pipeline issues, we want to hear from you. This role requires daily on-site presence at NAVAIR Station Pax River in St. Mary's County, MD. Clearance:

A Top-Secret Clearance is mandatory for this role, but candidates may commence with an interim clearance. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for classified information access. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. Requirements: Five years of hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments. Familiarity with DoD Information Assurance and Cyber policies, including system hardening and implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Proficiency in Linux Server build, maintenance, troubleshooting, and handling service requests and server consolidation. Experience with UNIX/Linux, Red Hat, and CentOS. DoD 8140 & 5239 compliant (Security + certification and OS certification). Knowledge of scripting and automation tools. Understanding of system security principles and experience in applying hardening techniques. Responsibilities: Participate in routine weekly maintenance tasks. Gather requirements and conduct design reviews. Install, configure, and manage Linux operating systems and related toolsets. Install and troubleshoot COTS and GOTS applications. Maintain functional knowledge of backup and disaster recovery technologies. Administer and patch systems for optimal performance and security. Migrate or update systems as necessary. Respond promptly to system failures to restore applications. Build new infrastructure servers. Conduct Continuous Monitoring actions, including DoD STIG application and cyber compliance actions. Maintain documentation and knowledge base, including system descriptions and procedures. Work in an Agile scrum environment to manage and report tasks. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience with container orchestration and management tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker). Experience with CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications. Familiarity with Ansible. Education:

BS in a technical field (preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, or Operations Research). Compensation:

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by several factors including experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skill set, and alignment with corporate plans. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 (USD). Benefits:
