is seeking an
Engineering Technician IV
to provide advanced technical and engineering support for the design, construction, testing, and installation of U.S. Navy electronic and navigation systems. This position requires a skilled technician capable of interpreting engineering documentation, constructing components and subassemblies, conducting system tests, and performing troubleshooting and repairs on complex equipment. The individual will work with limited supervision and use independent judgment to ensure technical adequacy and conformance with engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities: Design, prepare, and modify engineering documents, schematics, and technical drawings to support system development and maintenance. Construct components, subunits, or models based on established specifications or adapt standard equipment for specific applications. Perform installation, testing, and maintenance of U.S. Navy electronic and navigation systems. Follow engineering layouts and diagrams to assemble, wire, or package electronic devices and subassemblies. Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in systems or components using test equipment and diagnostic tools. Conduct tests and experiments, make necessary modifications to test setups or procedures, and record and analyze results. Select and operate appropriate test and measurement equipment; process and compile test data accurately. Identify data inconsistencies or errors, research discrepancies, and clarify missing or incomplete information. Assist engineers with design modifications by compiling and analyzing data on design, materials, and specifications. Review operational performance data to identify causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Perform recurring work independently, applying sound technical judgment and initiative within established procedures.
Qualifications: Five (5) years of practical technical experience with a degree or formal training, or seven (7) years with a high school diploma or GED. Experience in the design, preparation, and modification of engineering drawings and documentation. Ability to construct components, subassemblies, and simple models, and adapt standard equipment for specialized uses. Skilled in troubleshooting, system testing, and data collection. Capable of performing non-standard assignments with minimal supervision. Proficiency in using engineering test equipment, tools, and CAD or drafting software. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Hands-on experience with installation and maintenance of U.S. Navy electronic systems.
