Description
The Accounting Intern performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department. This is a part time/temporary position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete assigned account reconciliations and ensure timely follow-up and resolution of reconciling items to ensure proper balances are maintained in the general ledger on a monthly basis.
Account Reconciliations include accounts payable, accruals and others as assigned.
Reconciling vendor statements and processing accounts payable check runs
Reconciling intercompany transactions.
Prepare daily bank deposits as needed.
Post manual journal entries and any other entries as required.
Posting of Accounts Receivable and Credit Card batches into the computer system as needed.
Posting of credit card processing fees.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Contribute ideas and feedback to continuously improve departmental processes and systems
Other duties as assigned by CFO or controller
Qualifications:
HS diploma or equivalent
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Must speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers. Minimum of one year of post secondary education in a business or accounting program preferred.
