Job Title:
Document Specialist
Department: Docs and Disclosure Department
Reports To: Operations Manager
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The Document Specialist is responsible for preparing the Closing Disclosures, Final Closing Package and reviewing the closing package. You will work with sales, operations team, and title/escrow companies to ensure our borrower have a smooth and enjoyable closing experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Prepare and complete accurate and compliant Initial and Final Closing Disclosures within the TRID timing guideline requirements. Review loans to ensure accuracy of documentation, compliance with federal/state regulations and compliance with in-house loan policy Familiar with regulatory requirements regarding disclosures and mortgage loan documents Must be detail-oriented Review title commitment, homeowner's insurance, flood certification, invoices, etc. to make sure all information is inputted and showing correctly on closing documents Superior communication skills, both verbal and written including professional and polite business email correspondence with proper grammar Ability to resolve complex issues with minimal supervision Strong time management skills to plan and organize a high daily volume with deadlines Must be a team player and work constructively and collaboratively with their fellow employees and title/escrow companies DESIRED PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Detail oriented and committed to the highest quality Self-Starter with positive Can-Do attitude Works well under pressure and relishes the responsibility that comes with the job Problem solving and analysis Communication proficiency An open-minded individual that embraces change and innovation JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Follow policies and guidelines when processing Initial and Final Closing Disclosures and Closing Documents
• Perform file reviews while adhering to regulatory compliance and time frames
• Monitor pipeline and balance workload accordingly
• Work collaboratively with internal and external clients to provide superior customer service
Understanding of TRID guidelines EDUCATION :
• High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years as a mortgage loan documents drawer Experience with BytePro (Preferred)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• This position is in an office setting with computer and general office equipment. The position requires the ability to move freely around within the department and other department locations
