Description
Develop, implement and coordinate the curriculum for the department's programs and professional development to provide a balance and enriching program throughout the district. Support and contribute to the establishment of ongoing electives enrichment operations to ensure sustainability programming that meet the needs of schools and the community in collaboration with the campus leadership. Provide school staff training, supporting extracurricular activities, conducting technical assistance to district schools, monitoring fitness test results, and assisting with maintaining an adequate instructional rotation of equipment to the schools. Collaborate with the department to ensure alignment of instructional deliverables to the district's vision, mission, and priorities. Provide support for safe instructional guidelines and facility recommendations to district schools. Communicate with supervisors to resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders and address any compliance issues from the state and court orders Support the work of electives and enrichment through the development of programs, standards of performance, and evaluation of performance using rubrics and other designated protocols Keep abreast of the technical, legislative, and professional developments that support the department and enrichment programming and responsibilities Coordinate special group meetings in selected programs to ensure program compliance, field feedback, and campus participation; along with assisting with, and participating in district-wide events, professional development Prepare, review, and revise as needed presentations, summaries, required reports, data, and other documents as needed for distribution to upper leadership Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; Master's Degree from an accredited university preferred Preferred Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject and subject level assigned Required 5+ years of direct experience in related field Ability to implement, present, and edit/revise written communication in all forms, resulting in products that are precise and accurate Demonstrated proficiency in organization, conducting effective professional development, and best practices to improve content, knowledge and skills Knowledge of district's content curriculum, national/state/local science standards, and district initiatives such as the district evaluation instrument for classroom teachers Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Apps tools and applications, web-based applications, digital instructional tools for the classroom, and professional development Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of this position Demonstrated skills in building teamwork and working well with others, while problem-solving, and taking initiative Provide leadership to support all districts and departmental goals and objectives, while prioritizing and functioning within time restraints Proficient in developing, organizing, and conducting effective professional development related to the curriculum content area.
