Senior Compliance Analyst - Rex Professional Compliance

As a Senior Compliance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting compliance management through various activities such as reviewing internal practices, documents, and reports to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks.
In this role, you will be a knowledgeable resource for physicians, coders, and reimbursement analysts across UNC Health Care. You may also take on supervisory responsibilities for compliance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Auditing and Monitoring:
Stay updated with evolving regulations, policies, and coding guidelines. Identify weaknesses, research causes, and recommend enhancements. Conduct audits, analyze data, and provide feedback to departments. Develop new policies and procedures for compliance improvement. Customer Service:
Foster positive relationships with management, staff, and providers. Facilitate meetings regarding compliance education and new regulations. Provide one-on-one and group training for coding and compliance. Investigations:
Gather information and conduct interviews to assess compliance concerns. Document findings and work with department leaders on corrective actions. Professional Development:
Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and compliance regulations. Share insights with peers within the organization. Special Projects:
Undertake additional projects assigned by management. Supervision:
Potentially supervise compliance staff and support their professional growth. Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Health Administration, Nursing, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable. Licensure/Certification:
Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS-P). Experience:
If you hold a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of three years in relevant fields is required. Alternate education levels require additional years of experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong research capabilities regarding regulations, advanced knowledge of billing practices, critical thinking, and data analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is essential, alongside exceptional communication and organizational skills. This full-time position is based in Chapel Hill, NC, with a hybrid work model. The salary range is $30.73 - $44.18 per hour, based on experience.
