Position Details

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Specialist to support refugee youth residing in a residential setting. This role is vital in helping young individuals navigate the challenges of displacement, trauma, and cultural adjustment. The Youth Specialist will provide emotional support, coordinate educational and recreational activities, and serve as a trusted mentor and advocate.

Are you bi-lingual in Spanish? Must be 21 years or older for this role and there is a vaccine requirement.

This position has a pay rate of $20.00/hr.

_________________________________________________________________________________ Provides direct supervision of youth in a residential setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Establish a family-like environment in the residence that includes modeling supporting behaviors and expectations

Assist youth with participating in daily schedule and routine, including but not limited to meal preparation, medication administration, developing independent skills, and preparing and organizing activities

Provide transportation for youth to appointments according to outlined safety rules

Monitor overnight activity at the home

_________________________________________________________________________________ Job Qualifications Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

High school diploma or equivalency required

Ability to learn de-escalation techniques and become CPR and first aid certified

Bi-lingual in Spanish strongly preferred

Experience

Direct care experience in a mental health field or working with vulnerable adults preferred

Additional Work Requirements

Valid unrestricted driver's license with good driving record, proof of current registration and automobile insurance required; reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served required
