Overview

A leading California-based food and wellness manufacturer is seeking an experienced Operations & Quality Assurance Manager to oversee daily production and packaging activities while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and operational excellence. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving continuous improvement in both quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support all aspects of production and packaging operations to meet daily performance goals.

Maintain full compliance with HACCP, SQF, and FDA standards, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.

Lead, coach, and develop teams on GMPs, sanitation, and quality assurance protocols.

Conduct root cause analysis on non-conformances and oversee implementation of preventive and corrective actions.

Manage quality programs such as pest control, environmental monitoring, and sanitation compliance.

Prepare for and facilitate customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.

Track and analyze key quality metrics (KPIs) to identify process improvement opportunities.

Partner with maintenance, R&D, and operations teams to optimize efficiency and safety throughout the facility.

Foster a strong culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Support new product introductions to ensure proper quality and safety integration into production.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related field ().

Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in food manufacturing or QA management.

Current certifications in HACCP, PCQI, and SQF Level 2 (or higher) required.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with proven leadership experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP or production management systems.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Bilingual in English and Spanish highly .

Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and work in temperature-controlled areas (cooler/freezer/production floor).
