Early Intervention Supervisor DEPARTMENT:
Educational Services SPECIFICATIONS: This is a specialized work in the coaching and supporting of parents/caregivers in activities to enhance their child's development. The employee works with considerable independence, receiving general and professional direction from the Early Intervention Supervisor and will work closely with local school districts through preschool transition. As an employee of the Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the job incumbent shall comply with all Board policies at all times, and shall demonstrate respect for, support the dignity of, and observe the rights of all individuals served by the agency.
Duties 65% Provides services in the location, and with the duration and frequency, specified in the Individual Family Service Plan or 3-5 service plan established. Provides on-going services in the natural environment of families to address the developmental needs of children who have met the eligibility requirements of Help Me Grow or county board services over 3. Provides continued support to families exiting EI services throughout the entire transition process and overlaps in providing services through age 5. Coaches parents or caregivers in developmental activities to enhance their child's development. Provides families with appropriate information and support to enhance their child's development. As Primary Service Provider (PSP), completes enrollment paperwork with families and obtains required DODD documentation. 5% Participates in ongoing developmental assessments. 5% Keeps accurate and current learning records, attendance records and any other recorded material necessary for the efficient maintenance of the program. 5% Maintains a cooperative relationship with co-workers and Help Me Grow staff. Attends weekly Early Intervention meetings. 5% Attends IFSP and Transition meetings throughout the year. Participates in the development and the review of the IFSP and 3-5 service plan. Documents service delivery and outcomes in progress notes and IFSP reviews/3-5 service plan reviews. Documents all family contacts, service delivery and child developmental progress on outcomes. Completes assigned section of the Evaluation Team Report for children transitioning to preschool and works with ISC to
ensure outcomes become reflected in ISP. 5% Assumes other related duties as assigned by the administration. 4% Attends conferences, workshops, seminars, and meetings designed to enhance professional growth as permitted and/or requested by the administration. 2% Maintains professional ethics in keeping with the confidentiality of information and material with which he/she will come in contact. 2% Serves on committees as assigned by the Early Intervention Supervisor. Assists administration in preparing Board Policies relating to Early Intervention services. Assists in selecting in-service topics and presenters. 1% Relates program philosophy, procedures, and goals to the general public in a positive manner. 1% Complies, as necessary, with Safety Rules established for the purpose of fulfilling compliance with Ohio Employment Risk Reduction Standards, Rules, or Orders, through the utilization of protective equipment and decontamination techniques.
Qualifications
Holds a bachelor's degree or graduate-level degree in education, health, social or behavioral science, social services, human services, or other related field from an accredited college or university. Meets requirements issued by Ohio Department of DD for Developmental Specialist Certification. Must be physically capable to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. Maintains a valid Ohio driver's license and a driving record with less than 6 points and acceptable to agency's insurance carrier. Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications.
