About the Role Are you a career-minded Water/Wastewater engineer looking to grow and advance? As a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer I, you will plan, lead, and execute engineering designs for a variety of water and wastewater projects, including sewershed studies, rehabilitation, new sewer design, water distribution systems, treatment plants, and pump stations. You will work on challenging projects while supporting a collaborative team environment that values quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate water and wastewater design projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and regulatory requirements. Analyze project data, including survey reports, maps, blueprints, aerial imagery, and geologic/topographic information. Identify system performance deficiencies and develop solutions for collection, distribution, and treatment systems. Perform hydraulic and process design calculations for water, wastewater, and pump station projects. Prepare construction cost estimates, contract plans, specifications, and engineering reports. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide guidance to junior engineers. Participate in client meetings and support project coordination and documentation. Conduct quality reviews in accordance with the Project Management Plan. Required Qualifications
5-10 years of relevant Water/Wastewater engineering experience. Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, MS Project, and Microsoft Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering (PE) license. Experience working with county and state clients in the Mid-Atlantic region. Familiarity with heavy construction and environmental facility operations. Working Conditions
Primarily office-based (95%) with occasional field visits. Fieldwork may involve outdoor conditions including heat, cold, humidity, and dry environments. Some lifting up to 25 lbs may be required. What We Offer
