Position Overview The Associate Planner plays a crucial role in driving revenue optimization and minimizing inventory risks for AMS by assisting in the development and execution in tactical inventory ordering and management tactics. This support role requires a blend of tactical thinking, analytical acumen, and cross-functional collaboration skills. The Associate Planner works with a high-performing team responsible for creating and implementing demand plans, evaluating in-season performance, and optimizing inventory positions to meet and exceed company goals.

Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

Assist in the development of comprehensive demand plans encompassing monetary value, units, and volume.

Collaborate with cross-channel partners to gather input and project demand plan and inventory outcomes.

Evaluate in-season performance, collaborating with channel partners, Associate Merchants and Merchants to drive sales and optimize end-of-season inventory positions.

Identify potential opportunities and risks related to under-performing SKUs or programs, implementing replenishment strategies for the online channel and providing actionable recommendations for execution.

Support the pre-season inventory forecasting process making recommendations supported by historical data and trend analysis

Develop hindsight performance analytics and insights regarding inventory, sell through, turnover, and out of stocks. Utilize these insights to inform future merchandising strategies, supplier negotiations, and operational practices.

Assist in developing the supporting tactics for strategies to optimize operational execution, boosting sales performance, improving sell through rates, mitigating out of stocks, and reducing unproductive inventory.

Support the inventory planning strategy throughout the product lifecycle, from annual planning to end-of-life decisions.

Collaborate closely with the Finance team to support quarterly and annual forecasting needs aligned with the Enterprise annual business plan. Provide necessary support and analysis.

Collaborate with Merchandising and Finance to establish annual and quarterly goals for the Planning team, including Inventory Turnover, Out of Stocks, Sell Through Rates, and Aged Inventory metrics.

Create and publish Merchandise Planning reports as needed to support the business while sharing insights and recommendations for inventory optimization

Identify, prioritize, and lead the resolution of process improvements in Merchandising, fostering collaborative cross-functional relationships.

Lead the development of planning data, insights, and reporting requirements to facilitate informed decision-making.

Support SKU and channel-level sales forecast accuracy to enhance strategic decision-making.

Requirements Educational Requirements

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. Bachelor's Degree is a plus.

Experience and Skills

Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in demand planning, inventory management, or related roles.

Preferred experience in retail or e-commerce industries.

Proficiency in using excel, planning and analytics tools and software.

Demonstrated expertise in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Merchandising, Finance, and Product Development/Merchandising teams.

Proven ability to adapt to evolving business needs.

Results-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to achieving objectives and delivering tangible outcomes.

Approach challenges with curiosity and an unbiased perspective, seeking a deep understanding of issues by gathering insights from diverse sources.
