About Pilgrim Pilgrim builds advanced biotechnology systems designed to meet mission needs and deliver real-world impact for warfighters. Our approach emphasizes

hands-on engineering, rapid iteration, and direct field deployment . We design systems that move quickly from prototype to field demo, refined with operator feedback to ensure technology succeeds under real-world pressure.

The Role As an

Electrical Engineer

at Pilgrim, you'll own initiatives end-to-end-designing, prototyping, and deploying ruggedized electronics for advanced biotechnology systems. This is not a theoretical R&D role: you'll be in the lab, on the bench, and in the field, integrating electronics into complex assemblies and testing them under operational stress.

What You'll Do PCB Design : Design and develop rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCBs-from schematic capture to layout-balancing performance and packaging. Prototyping : Build and test breadboard circuits to validate concepts and scale to production with DFM principles. Hardware Bring-Up : Validate and debug new boards using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and other test tools. Subsystem Development : Design and test circuits for

sensing, actuation, and power management. Integration : Assemble and troubleshoot

wire harnesses, cabling, and connectors

for reliable system integration. Collaboration : Work closely with mechanical and systems engineers on electromechanical assemblies. Field Testing : Travel to conduct live demonstrations, stress-test prototypes, and incorporate operator feedback into system refinements. What We're Looking For

B.S. in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent capability. A

portfolio of independent projects

showing applied hardware design and prototyping skills (required). Hands-on experience with

PCB design software

(KiCad preferred, Altium acceptable). Strong mixed-signal circuit design background. Proficiency with

lab equipment

(oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies). Hands-on skills in

soldering, wiring, board bring-up, and rework. Familiarity with communication protocols ( SPI, I2C, UART ). Understanding of

EMI/EMC

considerations in design. Nice to Have

Experience with

edge computing platforms

(NVIDIA Jetson, NXP i.MX, Qualcomm Snapdragon, Rockchip). Embedded microcontrollers/SoCs (Nordic nRF, STM32, STM32MP1). Deploying

ML models on embedded systems

or working with

RTOS-based firmware. Strong programming in

C/C++ and Python

for firmware or test automation. Background in

low-power design and optimization. Familiarity with

CAD tools

(Fusion 360) and rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining). Experience with ruggedized electronics or systems designed for harsh environments. Why Join Pilgrim

Direct ownership : Take full responsibility for hardware initiatives from design to deployment. Mission impact : Build systems that support operators in the field, under real-world pressure. Hands-on engineering : Combine lab prototyping with field testing and iteration. Growth path : Early opportunity to take on leadership as Pilgrim scales.

Join Us If you're eager to design and deploy electronics that stand up to the toughest conditions-and see your work make an immediate difference in the field-Pilgrim is the place for you.
