Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive

Facilities & Maintenance Manager

to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of our solar panel manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for managing building systems, equipment, utilities, safety compliance, and vendor relationships to ensure uninterrupted and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, compressed air, and fire protection.

Supervise maintenance staff and contractors; schedule preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns.

Directly manage and provide leadership to day and night shift custodians.

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve reliability.

Identify and develop plans of action for building and infrastructure repairs. Act as the primary point of contact for external repair vendors and service providers.

Work closely with Production Managers and leadership to identify and support production-related waste management needs. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors handling pallet breakdown, scrap recycling, and waste removal services.

Manage facility projects including renovations, equipment installations, and layout changes.

Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and company policies.

Monitor facility-related budgets, expenditures, and maintenance inventory.

Coordinate with utility providers to ensure consistent supply and cost control (electricity, water, gas, etc.).

Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in alignment with company goals.

Lead emergency response and facility security procedures in conjunction with HSE team.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in facilities and/or maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.

Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Understanding of EHS and OSHA compliance standards.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to emergencies.

Technical certification or degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field .

Familiarity with facility permitting requirements and processes, ensuring compliance with city laws and ordinances. Experience with City of Tomball .
