Hiring salary $22.93 - $28.66/hour

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
The
Traffic Signs & Markings Technician
performs skilled manual and technical maintenance and/or operational activities for the Traffic Signs & Markings workgroup.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates traffic maintenance equipment for the installation of traffic control signs and pavement markings. Inspects traffic signs to assure compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Responsible for traffic control through work zones. Assists with work planning by scheduling, organizing and securing materials and equipment. Maintains various records such as equipment, time, supplies, and parts inventory. Assists in training other employees in routine maintenance tasks. May use personal computer to fabricate traffic control signs. May act as lead worker. Performs additional duties as required. Ability to operate paint gun controls on paint trucks. Ability to operate platform truck including proper use of safety harness. Ability to weed and apply sign faces on aluminum blanks. Ability to operate all thermoplastic equipment. Ability and knowledge to follow loading procedure for paint truck. Perform manual labor for extended periods of time, outside and in all weather conditions. Understand oral and written instructions. Operate or receive training on various types of maintenance and construction equipment. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees. Train and instruct other employees. Keep and maintain accurate records. Organize and schedule tools, materials, and equipment to accomplish tasks. Supportive team player with a positive attitude and ability to adapt to change. Colorado Driver's License Must obtain Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of employment.
