Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP seeks a Patent Assistant for its Glendale, California office. The Patent Assistant will support members of the Intellectual Property Practice Group focused on patent prosecution and is responsible for assisting legal practice assistants in supporting attorneys and patent agents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use standard templates to communicate with clients regarding status of U.S. patent applications Draft IDS forms. File and report IDSs. Download, bullzip and save U.S. & Foreign references Handle assignment recordation. Save Office Action Response packets to document management system and email to working attorney/assistant team. Proof and report USPTO notices (i.e. Notice of Recordation, Filing Receipt). File and report priority documents Train and review the work of other team members as necessary. Assist with special projects as needed. REQUIREMENTS:
An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) is preferred. Prior law firm experience is a plus. Knowledge of English grammar, proofreading and English composition skills as well as a disciplined eye for quality checking document accuracy. Excellent computer skills and a strong knowledge of MS Word, Windows, Outlook, Excel and Adobe are required.
Compensation: $50,000-$60,000 is the estimated salary range for this role in Glendale, California. Starting salary will be determine based on qualifications and experience.
