$120,000 - $145,000 Overview Astrion is currently looking for experienced Network Systems Engineers in support of the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO) in El Segundo, CA. This program focuses on providing integration assessments and analysis across multiple mission areas under Space Systems Command (SSC) portfolio. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in
Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science , or related STEM field. Active Top Secret / SCI clearance
(or eligible). 5+ years
of experience in
network and systems engineering
supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs. Experience setting up and installing a server from the ground floor to include configuration and hardening Experience with a Windows environment to include Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and GPOs: Proficiency with
Cisco routers/switches ,
firewalls ,
DNS/DHCP , and
Active Directory . Familiarity with
DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III
baseline certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CASP, CCNA Security). Experience with
network design, configuration management, and documentation
in secure mission environments. Desired Qualifications Master's degree in a related STEM discipline. Experience supporting
Space Systems Command (SSC), NRO, or NASA
mission systems. Familiarity with
network encryptors (KG-175, TACLANE, HAIPE devices)
and
DoD transport architectures . Hands-on experience with
VMware ,
Linux , and
Windows Server
integration. Working knowledge of
DISA STIGs ,
ACAS , and
RMF compliance
processes. Strong communication skills for technical exchanges, briefings, and multi-organizational coordination. Responsibilities Design, configure, and integrate LAN/WAN architectures supporting satellite and ground-based systems. Implement routing, switching, and firewall configurations using Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto platforms. Collaborate with Systems Engineering teams to ensure end-to-end network interoperability across multiple mission systems. Conduct risk assessments, fault isolation, and root cause analysis to maintain high network availability. Support system-level design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and ensure network requirements are validated and verified. Develop and maintain technical documentation, interface control documents (ICDs), and system diagrams. Perform network modeling, simulation, and capacity planning for scalability and redundancy. Coordinate with Cybersecurity Engineers to ensure compliance with DoD RMF and STIG standards. Troubleshoot and maintain networked servers, domain controllers, and Active Directory services in hybrid environments. Support network accreditation, testing, and certification activities for classified networks (SIPR/NIPR/JWICS). #CJ
