The Money Data Science team within GBSG is on a mission to uplift customer experiences and create significant business impact through data insights, models, and strategic partnerships. Collaborate with diverse teams including Product Management, Commercial, Finance, Business Operations, Design, and Engineering to make data-driven decisions that enhance customer value.
As the founding Senior Staff Data Scientist on this groundbreaking product initiative, you will analyze data deeply to derive actionable insights that will catalyze the growth of this new offering. We are seeking an ideal candidate who possesses a solid foundation in quantitative analysis and experience in growth hacking and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Dive deep into data to uncover insights that will inform product development and go-to-market strategies for a new strategic initiative, shaping impactful decisions. Identify business challenges and opportunities, formulate hypotheses, set goals, define key metrics, and present actionable recommendations. Drive strategic insights that will evolve the Money-movement ecosystem products, benefiting millions of SMBs. Develop predictive models and conduct revolutionary experiments to generate customer insights that ignite product innovation. Establish and utilize customer segmentation patterns to enhance product targeting, positioning, and overall customer experience. Work closely with various teams to convert data insights into tangible recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications:
The perfect candidate is an inquisitive and proactive data scientist with a knack for building scalable solutions and a strong grasp of customer behavior, alongside a passion for fintech. B.S. or M.S. degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Econometrics, or related fields. 10+ years of experience in data science or product analytics, preferably in the fintech sector, showcasing expertise in predictive modeling, customer segmentation, and experimentation. Adept at crafting data-driven strategies to generate significant growth while enhancing customer benefits. Experience in formulating hypotheses based on customer behavior, industry trends, and external factors; background in fintech or SMB markets is highly desirable. Proficiency in designing and interpreting complex experiments beyond conventional A/B testing. History of creating reusable and scalable analytics solutions with a focus on efficiency and eliminating redundant work. Exceptional communication skills, capable of influencing key decision-makers and fostering team consensus. Quick to adapt and learn with the flexibility to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience applying statistics and machine learning techniques to tackle multifaceted business challenges, particularly in go-to-market and marketing areas. Technical Skills:
Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with visualization tools like Qlik, Tableau, and Plotly Dash. Strong analytical skills using Python (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, etc.). Familiarity with Linux/OS X command line, version control software (git), and software development foundations.
