Description The Leidos Civil NISC IV team is seeking an

Environmental and Occupational Safety Health (EOSH) Specialist

to play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy workplace. This position involves implementing and maintaining the Environmental Management System (EMS) and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) in line with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in stormwater compliance and construction review processes, focusing on environmental impacts and safety hazards. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with a diverse team to analyze and mitigate field-level hazards. Research relevant regulatory, scientific, and engineering documentation. Provide regulatory compliance support in coordination with local authorities in areas including:

sanitary sewer and pretreatment discharges,

surface water discharges (non-storm),

and stormwater discharges. Conduct quarterly inspections of stormwater outfalls and facilities. Document and support initiatives related to the MMAC EMS and HSMS. Review various Construction Project Documents like Design Analyses, Drawings, and Timelines to identify environmental and safety concerns. Maintain organizational documentation and communication within the EOSH office regarding these reviews. Regularly attend construction meetings (Pre Bidding, Preconstruction, Progress, Project Design Review, etc.) to provide input. Offer professional recommendations on construction documents to assess environmental impacts and safety hazards. Ensure that all environmental and safety-related comments are properly addressed during construction projects. Apply engineering expertise to environmental protection efforts, focusing on pollution control and resource quality. Understand federal and state environmental laws and compliance regulations. Possess a strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effectively interact with multiple customers. Capable of lifting 20 lbs. and performing physically demanding tasks. Respond to and manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste spills. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in environmental or safety-related fields, plus 2 - 4 years of relevant experience (additional years of experience may substitute for a degree). Desirable experience in Sanitary Sewer, Surface Water, and Storm Water Discharges Technical Support. Experience in a commercial campus environment is a plus. $57,850.00 - $104,575.00 Please note that pay ranges are estimates and may vary based on factors like responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity.
