This position provides assistive care to patients. The incumbent facilitates the efficient delivery of patient care, supports the professional role of the licensed staff, and provides support and assistance as directed by licensed staff in rendering basic healthcare to the patient. This position also assists with clerical functions as a multi-skilled auxiliary worker. This position provides direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, reporting patient concerns, performing lab tests, acting as a chaperone, monitoring patient rooms, and assisting with clerical functions. Knowledge/skills/abilities required include human relation and communication skills, proficiency in clinic specialty skills, and the ability to withstand physical demands. Qualifications required include verifiable completion of an EMT course, medical assistant experience, medical assisting education, or University Hospital Medical Assistant certification program. Licenses required include current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential. Working conditions and physical demands may involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and exposure to infectious diseases and contaminants.
