Position Summary

The OSP Engineer is responsible for all aspects of network route engineering, including aerial and underground route design, construction permitting, drafting, relocations and as-built documentation in accordance with company policies, procedures and quality standards. This role will primarily be in the office, with occasional work from home opportunities.

MWFN is looking for a level I or II engineer, based on experience.

Please note:

Our Glendale, WI office was affected by the August flooding. We are temporarily operating out of an office in Wauwatosa, WI 53226. This position will report to the Wauwatosa office until renovations at our Glendale location are complete.

Job Responsibilities

Engineer aerial, underground and inside plant facilities Prepare clear, complete, accurate construction plans and final working drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) with sufficient details from rough sketches and field notes Meet or exceed minimum specification to MWFN Construction Policy, FCC Technical Standards, NEC, OSHA, State, County and/or City, and all other applicable agencies Maintain a high level of productivity, assuring time-frames are met Consult with senior engineers regarding design and drafting standards Use computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and other software to complete final working drawings Other duties as assigned Education/Experience/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of Engineering or five years of related experience Associate Degree in Drafting/Computer-Aided Design is preferred Technical knowledge of the industry, construction practices, and local governing authority rules for placement of telecommunications facilities Prior experience/knowledge in a Telecommunications/Cable environment is preferred Experience with GIS and ESRI software Experience with AutoCAD Ability to handle more than one project at a time and to meet strict deadlines Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable
