Our client, a nationwide leader in plastics manufacturing, has an immediate need for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic, to join their winning team in Mansfield. Our candidate of choice will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and plant facilities to support the continuous manufacturing of plastic products. You will ensure equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and upholds safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on extrusion, injection molding, thermoforming, and other plastic processing equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues to minimize production downtime Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and blueprints to diagnose and repair systems. Perform machine changeovers, setups, and adjustments to support production needs. Maintain plant utilities (compressed air, water systems, chillers, conveyors, etc.). Fabricate, weld, and machine parts as necessary for equipment repairs. Document maintenance activities, repair logs, and parts usage in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Collaborate with production operators and supervisors to improve equipment performance and efficiency. Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and enhance manufacturing processes. KEY REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma required or GED technical or vocational training preferred. 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably plastics. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems. Experience with injection molding, extrusion, or other plastics manufacturing equipment a plus. Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding, and fabrication equipment. Basic computer skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed. General knowledge of OSHA standards.
