Job Overview: Are you a skilled technician with hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical assembly, with a passion for precision and innovation? At Ingersoll Rand, we are seeking a talented and dedicated technician to join our dynamic ARO team, specifically at our new North American Customer Solutions Center. This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of a team that values creativity, excellence, and collaboration. The technician would be responsible for supporting delivery of highly variable, low volume products and systems through machining / fabrication, testing, and data collection. This role is key to the successful delivery of high quality, reliable product designs and will use established procedures and best practices to ensure products meet or exceed our business unit specifications.

Responsibilities:

Utilize technical drawings, sketches, CAD models, and/or job instruction sheets to produce finished pieces, parts, and materials to specifications and quality standards.

Utilize a variety of measurement tools and methods to evaluate finished parts against specifications (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gage, V-blocks, dial indicator, etc.)

Perform minor wiring / electrical tasks of components

Install / assemble various pipe fittings (tubing, piping, etc.) for flow of fluid or air

Conduct various testing on production pumps and systems as needed

Conduct inspections to ensure product meets specifications

Follows all ISO procedures and safety rules

Updates work order cover sheets, daily production sheets, status sheets, and quality records as needed.

Maintains 5S standards of organization and housekeeping of work area.

Work collaboratively with manager and team, embracing a culture of collaboration, problem solving, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Become proficient in operating, programming, and maintaining various machining equipment (lathes, mills, and CNC machines) to produce finished pieces, parts, and materials to specifications and quality standards.

Become proficient with fabrication components using various welding techniques (MIG,TIG and etc) and other fabrication tools such as bandsaw, brake press, tubing bender, sheet metal forming tools, grinder, sander, arbor press, hydraulic press, etc.

Utilize pneumatic and electric powered and manual hand tools (drill, impact driver, saw, wrench, ratchet, torque wrench, hammer, punch, tap / die, etc.)

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in learning new processes, tools, and technologies

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED

3+ years' experience in mechanical and electrical assembly or equivalent certification

Ability to gain proficiency in basic welding and machining

Ability to read / interpret technical drawings, sketches, CAD models and / or job instruction sheets

Ability to utilize computer systems

Competencies:

Ability to acquire proficiency in machining, welding, light electrical wiring, and other manufacturing techniques

Quickly learns and applies new technologies, processes or techniques

Team-oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with others.

Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have the ability to multi-task

Must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to remain agile with frequently changing requirements (high variability)

Knowledge of and willingness to comply with all quality standards, general work rules, policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and procedures.

Preferences:

Associates degree or training certification

High level of experience in machining, welding, and electrical wiring, preferably in a build-to-order manufacturing environment.

Experience with pneumatics (compressed air)

Experience using computer-aided-design (CAD) and / or computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) software
