Description
The Shipping Clerk / Fulfillment Specialist is responsible for accurately picking, packing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining high standards for quality and efficiency. This role supports warehouse operations by coordinating shipments, preparing documentation, and ensuring all orders are completed on time. Candidates with strong attendance and performance have the opportunity to be rolled over to a full-time permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to company standards. Verify accuracy of orders, labels, packing lists, and shipping documents. Coordinate carriers and schedule pickups for outgoing shipments (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.). Process shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and tracking information. Maintain neat and organized shipping and receiving areas. Assist with receiving incoming shipments, unloading trucks, and stocking inventory. Update inventory systems to reflect shipments, returns, and stock adjustments. Communicate with customer service and warehouse teams on shipping status, delays, or discrepancies. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or scanners (if certified). Requirements
Qualifications:
Previous experience in shipping, fulfillment, warehouse, or logistics preferred. Basic computer skills; experience with shipping software and inventory systems is a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 40-50 lbs] and stand for extended periods. Good communication and organizational skills. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures. Familiarity with barcode scanners and RF devices. Experience preparing LTL and freight shipments. Ability to multitask and meet daily shipping deadlines.
