Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Highway/Roadway) to join our Transportation team in Los Angeles, California in Summer 2026, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply your academic knowledge to real-world transportation engineering challenges. You will assist our team in various aspects of highway/roadway design and learn about industry-standard procedures and software.

Project opportunities may include supporting the design of local municipal corridors, major arterial roads and interstate highways. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable insights into transportation engineering.

Your Responsibilities May Include:

Utilizing AutoCAD/Civil 3D to prepare various engineering drawings, layouts, and/or models to communicate project details in accordance with established standards and procedures;

Assist in basic highway/roadway geometric design calculations

Help prepare technical reports and design documentation

Participate in traffic analysis and capacity studies for highways/roadways

In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution

Completed coursework related to transportation engineering or highway/roadway design

Ideally, You Will Have:

3.0 GPA

At least a rising Junior

Familiarity with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam and MicroStation

A previous internship related to your field of study

Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to transportation infrastructure projects

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Willingness to participate in field work and site visits
