Position Title: Gastroenterologist

Hours: Full-time

Job Duties:

Diagnose and treat GI disorders, including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive issues. Provide advice and support on diet and nutrition changes to patients and refer them to relevant dietitians as required. Perform investigative endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, upper endoscopies, duodenoscopes, gastroscopies, and barium swallows. Prescribe medication to treat digestive disorders and perform surgery to remove abnormalities in the colon or rectum. Perform diagnostic tests, like blood tests and stool sample tests, to determine the cause of the patient's symptoms. Refer patients to other medical professionals and specialists if further diagnostic testing or treatment is required. Educate patients and family members about the diagnosis and treatment process. Keep accurate and detailed patient medical records.

Required Minimum Position Qualifications:

Doctorate in Medicine, Osteopathy, or foreign equivalent

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Iowa

Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Internal Medicine

Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship in gastroenterology
