Description
New York Plastic Surgical Group (NYPSG) is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Revenue Cycle Management to oversee end-to-end billing operations across our renowned multi-site cosmetic surgery, reconstructive, and med spa practice. In this key leadership role, you’ll manage billing, collections, authorizations, and provider credentialing functions while leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. You’ll work closely with clinical and executive leadership to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and optimize the patient financial experience.
*Please note this role requites to be onsite in our Garden City, NY office 5 days per week. *
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING:
Leadership & Strategic Oversight
Lead all Revenue Cycle Management functions, including Billing, Collections, Authorizations, and Credentialing
Manage RCM operations across multiple office locations, including both on-site and remote teams
Establish departmental goals, workflows, and KPIs to align with business objectives and compliance requirements
Mentor, coach, and develop team members; provide training and ongoing performance evaluations
Support recruitment and onboarding of revenue cycle staff; develop and maintain departmental training documentation
Revenue Cycle Operations
Oversee claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up
Ensure timely and accurate prior authorizations and insurance verification processes
Monitor billing compliance and coding accuracy, in accordance with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations
Manage payer communications and disputes, including coordination and submission of IDR cases when applicable
Maintain accurate and current provider credentialing with all contracted insurers
Oversee all physician and provider credentialing, including initial applications, recredentialing, and payer enrollment for surgeons, physician assistants, and other billable staff
Technology & Process Optimization
Serve as liaison with EMR and billing system vendors to improve RCM tools and performance
Implement process improvements to increase collections, reduce denials, and improve cash flow
Develop and deliver regular performance reports, analysis, and dashboards for senior leadership
Administrative & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and front-office teams to improve billing workflows and financial transparency
Ensure accurate data entry of referring provider and PCP information into the EMR system
Support the creation of spreadsheets, audit reports, and PowerPoint presentations for internal projects
Develop job aids and tools for collectors, including credential access guides, authorization logs, and accounts receivable audits
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field required
Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 6-8 years progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
Strong working knowledge of the end-to-end revenue cycle, including health information, patient registration, coding, insurance verification, billing and claims processing, accounts receivable management, adjustments, remittance processing, and collections
Deep understanding of prior authorizations, self-pay collections, Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR), and strategies for managing both payer-based and elective revenue streams
Direct experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and Workers’ Compensation
Experience in healthcare, surgical or specialty care setting is preferred
Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities
Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Compensation: $150,000-$180,000
