About the role
At Reworld Waste, we're redefining what it means to manage waste responsibly. Our mission is to create a cleaner, more sustainable future by transforming waste into renewable energy and valuable resources. We are looking for a Plant Engineer/Project Manager to join our team at the Niagara Reworld facility - a critical site that plays a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Plant Engineering & Design Support
Provide plant engineering and design support services for the Reworld Niagara Resource Recovery Facility. Collaborate with site and corporate engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations. Boiler Reliability Engineering
Lead and execute boiler outage inspections, ensuring detailed planning, organization, and oversight. Serve as lead engineer during boiler outages and prepare comprehensive Condition Assessment Reports. Compile and analyze inspection data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions. Develop and revise standard specifications, repair plans, and capital improvement work scopes and cost estimates. Plant Operations Engineering
Monitor and analyze plant performance metrics to identify opportunities for production improvement and cost optimization. Prepare detailed monthly performance reports. Provide engineering support for boiler combustion controls and related systems. Asset Improvement Projects
Support the development and execution of asset improvement projects through engineering and design expertise. Partner with operations, maintenance, and project management teams to ensure successful project implementation. Technical Standards & Compliance
Maintain and update Reworld Operations & Maintenance Standards as required. Prepare and submit technical variance requests. Write and revise detailed technical specifications for facility use. Prepare Facility Change Notice (FCN) documents for review and approval of facility modifications or improvements. Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. Willingness to travel (approximately 5-10 days per year) and work in confined areas to perform inspections as needed. Direct boiler experience preferred but not required.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000
This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
