Position Summary:
Provides leadership to the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Partners with the Director of HR and leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. Provides support and guidance to HR team, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigations, and terminations. Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of qualified job applicants, particularly for non-exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent. Involved in maintaining the HRIS system to ensure accuracy and best practice functionality. Provides assistance and training when needed. Administers and oversees efficient and accurate bi-weekly payroll processing. Manages non-exempt employee relations, including performance issues, employee engagement and investigations. Maintains knowledge and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Works independently and collaboratively on complex special projects in a variety of human resources program areas including but not limited to: Learning and development, performance management, and colleague engagement. Completes annual required compliance filings, regulatory reporting or reviews such as AAP, W-2s, ACA, State and Federal Tax compliance, and Nondiscrimination testing. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues. Contributes to and assists in maintaining a positive, collaborative and supportive workplace culture. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Minimum of 2 years in HR Generalist or Specialist role and 5 years of experience in Human Resources is required. Professional HR certification, PHR/SHRM-CP, preferred. Knowledge of UKG HRIS preferred.
