This employee is responsible for design, deployment, management, and support of the Citrix XenApp & server and VDIenvironments. This includes a robust and continually evolving set of Citrix solutions used to run critical 24/7 business systems on a variety of computing devices.
Extensive experience in designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing Citrix and related infrastructure is critical to the success of this role Expert knowledge of XenApp, XenDesktop, Provisioning Services, VMWare (or HyperV/XenServer), Windows/Citrix Profile Management, Windows Server OS (2016-2022), PowerShell, Active Directory, and Group Policy are key to this role Required to work with IT teams, project managers, IT architects, vendors, and business leaders to design and architect hosted computing solutions to meet demanding clinical workflows in diverse hospital environments JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists in design, deployment, and Support of Citrix solutions Monitors and resolves incident tickets ensuring prompt and effective solutions and closure Effectively triages incidents when necessary in accordance to IT procedures Ensures appropriate monitoring tools are in place and properly utilized to ensure the integrity and stability of the Enterprise Citrix environment Works with other Lincare support teams as appropriate for support and troubleshooting of issues pertaining to the Citrix enterprise environment Continually works to standardize and document existing procedures Provides training and documentation to the HelpDesk on resolution skills to provide first call resolution where possible Assesses and interprets business needs and requirements Develops and monitors metrics to ensure support SLAs are met Provides escalation path for users with issues and researches outstanding issues Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve process and workflow for the technicians Proactively works to improve customer experience and departmental performance Promotes network and system standards and ensures adherence to existing and new standards and best practices Helps create documentation, procedural, and otherwise regarding Citrix responsibilities Continues to improve Citrix operations via new ideas and methods Participates in the development, planning, and execution of large Citrix and other IT projects Submits timely status reports to senior leadership and other project stakeholders as required Works with minimal guidance, seekS guidance on only the most complex tasks Mentors and provides guidance to junior members of the technical support team Conforms to all departmental and enterprise standards, policies, and procedures Maintains a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the department Develops an understanding and awareness of the enterprise, including its objectives, design, strategies, departmental initiatives, staffing, and the roles of key players in the organization Contributes to short and longterm organizational planning and strategy as a member of the Citrix team Installs/builds, configures, administers, and decommissions Citrix infrastructure systems, including upgrades, patching, image lifecycle management, for application delivery Creates and maintains technical documentation and diagrams specific to the Citrix ecosystem, including infrastructure topology, policy configurations, and automation workflows Education
Bachelor's Degree Required Work Experience
10+ years of expert knowledge designing, implementing, and supporting XenApp, XenDesktop/Desktop Virtualization, CVAD Machine Creation Services & VMWare (or HyperV/XenServer), 10+ years of expert knowledge designing, implementing, and supporting Windows/Citrix Profile Management, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022, PowerShell, Active Directory, Application Virtualization, Application remedies, and Group Policy 10 years supporting Citrix in a customer service focused environment, Healthcare IT, preferred MS Azure and other cloud hosting solutions is a plus at least 3 years with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a plus integrating third party tools (e.g., Nerdio, ControlUp) for VDI environments MS Azure, AVD, and other cloud hosting solutions is a plus supporting Web Interface and StoreFront 3.x. NetScaler, Machine Creation Services, Citrix Profile Management & Server Virtualization (VMware) Advanced with Active Directory, Group Policy, and DHCP is required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expert and expertise in designing, planning, deployment, and administration of Citrix CVAD 1912+ Server Farms PowerShell scripting is required troubleshoot technical problems related to Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop infrastructure Exceptional analytics and problem-solving Excellent project management multitask and prioritize work requirements work independently and take initiative over diverse project areas Excellent communication, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Excellent listener to business requests, exceptional understanding of business need, to do what the business "needs" rather than just what the business "asks" Exercises considerable discretion and independent judgment work under pressure prioritize and escalate problems Capacity to advise and provide direction to junior staff Excellent organization follow direction flexible, versatile, and adaptable in day-to-day activities conducted in a multi-site environment express ideas concisely and clearly, orally and in writing effectively prepare presentation material and present information to IT staff, management, and business groups strategically plan and be proactive in approach read, analyze, and interpret applicable technical documentation, system reports, software licenses, and contracts
