VMware System Engineer

Full Scope Polygraph
to support a mission-critical environment in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role will be instrumental in redesigning and optimizing VMware infrastructure as the organization transitions to a
Hardware as a Service (HWaaS)
platform. The ideal candidate is a
Maryland resident
holding an active
Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph , with proven expertise in
VMware vCenter and system administration , and hands-on experience with
Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment . Position Description:
The
VMware Engineer
will lead architectural design, system migration, and administration of VMware environments, ensuring
secure, optimized, and scalable operations . The role requires close collaboration with
network, storage, and security teams
while driving
automation, optimization, and standardization
across platforms. Required Qualifications:
Active
Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience). Deep knowledge and experience with
VMware vCenter
and
VMware system administration . Experience migrating from
VMware 7.x to 8.x . Hands-on experience with
Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment . Proficiency in
Windows and Linux system administration , including patching and sustainment. Familiarity with
Storage Area Networks (SAN)
and
Power Distribution Units (PDU) . Knowledge of
enclave security
and
firewall technologies
(e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ASA). Desired Qualifications:
Experience with
VMware NSX . Knowledge of
Hardware as a Service (HWaaS)
platform. Strong background in
system optimization, automation, and infrastructure design . Ability to translate
customer requirements into secure, production-ready solutions .
