We are currently offering an excellent opportunity within Casualty Facultative North America (CFNA) for an Underwriter Associate. This opening is not for a specific location, but preference willbe given to candidates who are able to work out of a U.S. Branch Office of Gen Re (Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia).

Role Description Gen Re provides Underwriter Associates with a high level of authority, productivity and empowerment early in their career. Initially, training is provided with an intensive program called "JumpSchool". Our mentoring program alsoprovides Underwriter Associates the opportunity to manage a book of business.

All work is completed withinteams; working effectively in a team environment is paramount. Successful candidates will possess a positive attitude, acceptresponsibility and accountability, technical aptitude, diverse interpersonal skills, ability to lead and are self-motivated.

As an Underwriter, this positionoffers a continuing variety of tasks. Underwriterswork with our clients (i.e. insurance companies)in assessing individual risk and related volatility, by utilizing data researchand rating models. Underwriters are responsible for understanding basic andstandardized contracts and policy forms, negotiate the transfer of risk,pricing directly with the client. Underwriters are provided the opportunity to travel and meet face-to-face with clients.

On themarketing or sales side, Underwriters strive to build lasting relationshipswith their clients. Marketing effortsinclude a variety of touchpoints, including client entertainment, industry events, meetings/presentations, and written communication.

Salary Range 63,000.00 - 84,000.00 USD The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
