Superintendent Purpose:
Assist welder(s) in securing components together to ensure accurate welds. This position will also work as a member of the project's labor force when not engaging in direct welding support Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of material for welding by cutting or grinding using pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and/or grinder Set material in stands, racks, hoists, etc. for welding Performs tasks assigned by Welder or Foreman's Buffs and or grinds as needed for Welder Follows oral and written directions. Assists in cleaning worksite after workday is over. Learns proper use & maintenance of various tools. Follows all MEC's policies and procedures Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed. Physical Requirements:
Frequent walking and climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain) Frequent lifting (up to and including 50 pounds) Frequent bending, twisting and standing Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hard hat, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the location Experience:
One year of industrial/construction/general labor experience License:
OSHA 10 Certification Preferred Travel:
