Job Title: Engineering Technician II – Product Engineering Support
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company Duration: 2 Years (Possibility of Extension) Location: Fargo, ND 58102 Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Summary:
The
Engineering Technician II
supports product engineering by testing, troubleshooting, and improving electronic systems and components used in heavy machinery. The role involves working closely with engineers to ensure high-quality, reliable electronic assemblies before production deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Test, inspect, and analyze failures in electronic assemblies and PCBs.
Perform repairs and rework following company/industry standards.
Build and maintain test harnesses, fixtures, and prototype boards.
Conduct manual and automated tests using TAKAYA APT-1600FD and related software.
Document results, maintain technical reports, and update prototype test records.
Support validation testing and assist in engineering design improvements.
Train peers and communicate findings with cross-functional teams.
Core Skills & Abilities:
Strong PCB troubleshooting and repair skills.
Knowledge of electronic components, manufacturing, and test processes.
Experience using test tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, logic/spectrum analyzers).
Ability to read schematics, interpret datasheets, and assemble test setups.
Proficient with PC tools, spreadsheets, and documentation systems.
Excellent analytical, communication, and independent problem-solving skills.
Experience:
3+ years in PCB troubleshooting and soldering (fine-pitch SMT ).
Familiar with 3D printing, machining, and PCB layout tools.
Exposure to electronic system design and validation testing.
Education:
Associate Degree or Technical Diploma in Electronics
Equivalent Military or Industry Experience Accepted
