Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our organization’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of servers, networks, and related systems while supporting end users and driving technology improvements across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and maintain servers, virtualization environments, storage systems, and network infrastructure
Monitor system performance, availability, and security; identify and resolve issues proactively
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across systems and applications
Implement and support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
Deploy, patch, and upgrade operating systems and software in line with security best practices
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems efficiently and effectively
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce IT policies, standards, and compliance requirements
Document system configurations, procedures, and architecture changes
Provide tier-2/3 technical support and mentorship to IT support staff
Research and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and scalability
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5+ years of experience in systems engineering, administration, or infrastructure management
Strong knowledge of:
Windows and/or Linux server environments
Virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
Experience with monitoring and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, or similar)
Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and identity management (e.g., Active Directory, MFA)
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, VMware Certified Professional, or CCNA
Experience with scripting, DevOps tools, or infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
