Essential Duties & Responsibilities
What You'll Do
As a Controls Estimator, you'll be responsible for developing accurate and timely cost estimates for projects ranging from small upgrades to large-scale installations. Reporting to the Estimating Supervisor or VP of Preconstruction, your role will include:
Preparing detailed proposals and cost estimates
Reviewing construction documents and identifying scope
Performing takeoffs using specialized software
Soliciting pricing from vendors and subcontractors
Attending pre-bid meetings and site inspections
Supporting change order pricing and project turnover
Maintaining estimating systems and BIM/design setups
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
Qualifications

Experience
Proven experience in controls estimating
Ability to interpret technical specs, plans, and contracts
Broad understanding of controls construction
Skills
Tech-savvy: Estimating software, Microsoft Office, FTP (training available)
Strong communicator: Clear, professional verbal and written skills
Trustworthy: Handles confidential information with integrity
Organized: Prioritizes tasks and maintains attention to detail
Physical & Work Environment
Primarily office-based with occasional job site visits
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
Job sites may include exposure to noise, particles, and mechanical equipment
