Accounting Manager / Accountant (Construction) - Chicago, IL (West Loop) $100,000 - $130,000/Annually + 100% paid for employee and family, PTO, retirement benefits and more.

Our work can be seen in everything from the careful restoration of historic landmarks and neighborhood institutions to the construction of modern office spaces, schools, and municipal facilities. Our
Accounting Manager /
Accountant
is responsible for full-cycle accounting, payroll, and has oversight on project accounting for our commercial construction projects. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and smooth operations across multiple projects. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating with Project Executives, Project Managers, and vendors.
Responsibilities:
Perform full general accounting duties including accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense recording, and bank reconciliations
Manage project accounting tasks including job cost tracking, draw submissions, and review of subcontractor and vendor billings
Maintain and manage payroll for accounting and finance teams, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
Oversight with review and processing lien waivers, change orders, certificates of insurance, and other project documentation
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, reporting, and financial analysis
Ensure accounting systems are organized and function efficiently to support daily operations
Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
Qualifications:
4+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Vista by Viewpoint
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
