Dean of Academics

serves as the campus academic leader responsible for scholar achievement and growth leading to an A rating by TEA. Working closely with the Principal, Director of Curriculum & Instruction (C&I), Chief of Academics, and interventionists, the Dean ensures that instruction, assessment, and intervention systems drive measurable academic excellence.

Reports To The Dean of Academics reports to the Principal and Chief of Academics.

At least five years of classroom teaching experience is required within either English Language Arts or Math in the assigned grade band (such as PK-5, 6-12). Ability to demonstrate strong student academic growth and achievement results based on standardized testing. A Master's Degree in a related educational field is desired but not require Role Based Competencies

Serves as the campus point person for academics, accountable for scholar achievement and ensuring the campus earns an A rating by TEA. Leads and monitors data-driven instruction (DDI), ensuring teachers analyze and act on MAP, STAAR, and benchmark data to improve scholar outcomes. Aligns all curriculum and instruction with TEKS and Beta academic standards. Oversees gradebook accuracy, grading equity, and report card verification in collaboration with registrars. Develops academic improvement plans when performance gaps are identified. Partners with the C&I team, Principal, and coaches to review academic data, observe instruction, and plan improvement strategies. Leads scholar success meetings and ensures parents are informed of scholar progress or risk of underperformance. Oversees summer school, summer enrichment, and credit recovery programs focused on academic mastery. Maintains compliance with all TEA and Beta academic requirements. II. Academic Interventions, RTI/MTSS & HB1416

Oversees campus academic RTI/MTSS implementation and serves as the RTI expert. Trains teachers on identifying scholars in need of intervention, progress monitoring, and documenting data accurately. Chairs RTI/MTSS meetings every six weeks and ensures biweekly progress monitoring. Manages RTI/MTSS and HB1416 data entry and compliance in Skyward and PEIMS. Coordinates Tier 2/3 interventions, Study Hall, and before/after-school tutorials. Supervises and coaches Reading and Math Interventionists. Leads communication, rollout, and annual updates of HB1416 requirements. Conducts at least 70% of AEP (HB1416) parent meetings in collaboration with campus principals. Ensures scholars complete required HB1416 intervention hours through communication, motivation, and incentives. III. Instructional Coaching, Development & TIA

Conducts classroom observations and provides actionable coaching feedback on instruction, rigor, and scholar engagement. Coaches teachers to maintain high expectations and effective learning environments. Facilitates peer observations, professional learning communities, and instructional planning sessions. Oversees all aspects of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program, ensuring observation and documentation compliance. Manages Schoolmint Grow usage for coaching efficiency; coordinates related professional development. Leads the campus coaching program in alignment with Beta's instructional vision. IV. Organization, Management & Assessment

Develops and manages assessment schedules (MAP, NWEA, IOWA, AR/STAR, mock STAAR, etc.) and ensures full participation. Partners with the District Testing Coordinator to ensure fidelity to TEA testing standards. Prepares academic improvement plans and facilitates all local assessment operations. Monitors scholar attendance, enrollment, and academic records for accuracy and compliance. Ensures due process and compliance for scholar discipline related to academic integrity or performance. V. Family and Community Engagement

Maintains strong communication with families regarding scholar progress, academic expectations, and intervention plans. Conducts parent meetings to discuss academic growth and strategies for improvement. Supports teachers during parent conferences and scholar success meetings. VI. School Culture and Mission Alignment

The campus earns an A rating from TEA. Scholar proficiency and growth targets are met or exceeded on MAP, STAAR, and benchmarks. All RTI/MTSS, HB1416, and PEIMS requirements met with 100% compliance. Academic coaching cycles completed with measurable improvement in instruction. Accurate grade reporting and timely parent communication maintained campuswide. Reports To: Campus Principal & Chief of Academics Employment Terms: Full-Time / Year-Round / Salary- $52,000-$65,000 Position Pay Scale: Dean & Assistant Principal Scale Location: In-Person, Beta Academy Confetti or Flagship Campus

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with occasional extended or evening hours during testing windows, campus events, or teacher in-service days.

Work Environment: Professional office and school setting with frequent interaction with teachers, staff, and administrators. Dress code enforced at all times.
