Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the

Senior Accountant

will support various aspects of our financial management processes and cycles with a primary focus on investments, fixed assets and fund accounting. This role will oversee and manage bank account reconciliations and assist with the coordination of ACH deposits and transfers. The Senior Accountant provides cross-departmental financial reporting oversight with regard to recording and accounting of all restricted grants, donations, and endowments. This role manages program and donation revenue streams using multiple sub-systems, such as CampMinder, DoubleKnot, VS2 - Salesforce, NetSuite, and Raiser's Edge.

The Senior Accountant will assist with the monthly closing processes. Additionally, this role provides support for annual financial audits, tax returns, and other regulatory filings as needed. The Senior Accountant ensures transactions are in accordance with GAAP, and that internal policies and controls are followed, with an eye towards risk mitigation.

This position will have a hybrid work arrangement with work from home 2 days per week; 3 days per week in GSEMA's Andover, Middleboro or Waltham office. This schedule will have some flexibility.

Explore Key Responsibilities:

Perform accurate and timely completion of daily accounting functions using an integrated accounting system (e.g. cash receipts and general ledger journal entries, etc.). Maintain supporting schedules, utilizing Excel spreadsheets. Manage investments, fixed assets, pre-paids and fund accounting. Prepare financial reports to support data entry and assist with inquiries from other departments. Maintain accurate, detailed and thorough files regarding council financial transactions, records and reporting. Work collaboratively with Fund Development Team to properly record all donation activity. Process all Membership Refunds Analyze retail revenue share and book appropriate entries. Daily monitoring of Banking Activity, coordinating ACH and wire transfers as well as assisting with product program funding needs. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Monitor and properly record Pledges and other Accounts Receivable. Work with collection agency to pursue past due balances. Monitor Camp Bank Account activity and coordinate movement of funds to ensure appropriate balances are maintained. Support key Finance team activities and functions, providing backup when necessary. Weekly Cashflow analysis Monthly Sales Tax Reporting Assist with funding of employee debit cards Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in finance or accounting highly preferred. At least six (6) years of previous professional accounting/finance experience required, preferably in a non-profit environment. Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve problems. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word) with V-Look up and pivot table experience. Strong attention to detail work with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness; ensures quality of work. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral; work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and other functional areas to further Council goals Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills, processes and software application Ability to organize work, handle high-volume tasks and manage multiple competing priorities Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables; ability to adapt in a changing environment Experience with Abilia MIP system a plus, CampMinder, Salesforce, Opsuites, and Raiser's Edge systems a plus Reasonable accommodations
