Description
JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Manufacturing Technician associate assembles products such as manifolds, small assembly's, power units, etc. They will work closely with both the Customer Service and Engineering departments to accomplish the necessary jobs. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Contributes to a positive working culture, builds strong relationships, and lives out the values of integrity, collaboration, and accountability.
General Shop Responsibilities
Maintain an organized and clean work environment
Support 6S and lean manufacturing initiatives
Provide feedback to supervisors regarding issues or opportunities for improvement
Move materials and assemblies using forklifts and overhead cranes (with proper training)
Participate in cross-training and assist other departments as needed
Assembly
Assemble hydraulic assemblies using technical drawings and schematics
Install and connect fluid power components
Perform repeatable tube bending and light fabrication
Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and shop equipment (drill press, band saw, chop saw)
Use adhesives, lubricants, solvents, epoxies, and related materials
Follow detailed work instructions and record labor activity
Testing & Inspection
Conduct hydraulic pressure and leak tests to verify system integrity and performance
Clean and inspect components prior to and after assembly
Identify and correct non-conforming products
Document results and ensure compliance with quality standards
Return unused parts and materials to inventory
Communication
Communicate with team members, engineering, and supervisors to resolve issues
Respond to routine emails, calls, or work documentation tasks as required
Read, interpret, and follow special instructions, schematics, and test documentation
Ensure job paperwork is complete and filed appropriately
COMPETENCIES:
Mechanical aptitude
Valid driver's license
Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Mechanical aptitude with strong hand tool skills
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings
Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and general shop equipment
Basic math, measurement, and recordkeeping abilities
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks
Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality standards
Clear verbal and written communication skills
Basic computer skills for work instruction and reporting
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
Hours average 40 per week; may require additional hours including evening and weekends depending on business needs.
Work typical performed in an indoor shop environment.
Tools and Equipment Used
Basic hand tools including but not limited to; allen wrenches, hammers, wrenches, angle grinders, power tools, and air tools.
Basic knowledge of machining equipment, such as drill presses and chop saws
Travel
Minimal - up to 10% of the time in instances such as installations or picking up supplies.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
One-year related mechanical or hydraulic experience
