Welder III (Overnight Shift 3:30 PM to 3 AM)

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:30 PM to 3 AM
Pay Rate: $24-$30/hour + $2.00/hour overnight shift differential
General Summary of Position
Thisposition is expected to independently produce welds that support theprefabrication of exterior and interior wall panels for commercial buildingsand provide mentorship for Welder I and Welder II.
Essential (Core Competencies) Duties
Read and interpret shop drawings.
Gather andcollect materials.
Determinethe appropriate welding equipment or method based on specifications and shopdrawings.
Accuratelymeasure and cut miscellaneous materials.
Performpanel layout in accordance with drawings.
Pre-assemblepanel components in preparation for weld.
Performwelds to ensure panel stays secured.
Weldcomponents using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in variouspositions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
Mentor andcoach Welder I and Welder II's as assigned by management.
Attendsand/or completes welder and safety training (through KLOVER Learning ManagementSystem) as required by management.
Maintainswelding maintenance logs for welder certifications to remain current.
Marginal Functions
Perform sheathing of welded panels.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications /
Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED.
10+ years MIG welding experience (or a combination of pre orpost-secondary education in welding and work experience).
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Trade school/vocational education in construction/carpentry and/orgeneral carpentry experience.
Current AWS D1.1 GMAW and/or SMAW certifications and ability tore-certify.

Work Environment
The workenvironment will consist mainly of heavy work in a manufacturing environment.There may be some exposure to seasonal humidity and extreme heat over 85degrees, excessive noise, and some vibration associated with the use of toolsand equipment. Some hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts,electrical current, caustic chemical, and slippery and uneven walking surfacesexist.
PhysicalRequirements
Due to the physical nature of the position,employee must have full dexterity of their hands and arms.
Employee must be able to see objects close andfar away
At times, multiple sounds can be heard asemployee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus on thesound in particular that is associated with the task they are completing. Employees with any sort of hearing impairmentwould not be considered fit for duty to perform this position.
Due to the safety sensitive nature of theposition, at all times, employee must be fit for duty and not report to workunder the influence of a mind altering or performance altering substance. At no time, should employee be found to bepossessing or using a mind or performance altering substance while performingany Company task.
