MMIC Design Engineer

Job Description: In MACOM's MMIC Business Unit, we design MMICs for commercial, aerospaceand defense, and other wireless applications. We are looking for an entry levelMMIC design engineer. Design MMIC products that could include amplifiers, attenuators, switches, or multifunction MMICs. Technologies generally include GaAs, GaN, or SOI. Repackage existing MMICs into new packages, create the necessary assembly and outline drawings, and write evaluation test plans. Be responsible for all design activities and related product development activities from kickoff through engineering evaluation. Initiate prototype builds and manage product characterization. You will design evaluation boards and characterization fixtures, then direct or perform measurements. Evaluation data is processed and presented against the product development goals. Provide clear status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing DC and RF test data. Work with our Product Engineering group to transfer products to production. Job Qualifications:

Besides your technical skill set, it is very important to us that you are highly motivated and results oriented. Degree (BS or MS) in Electrical Engineering. RF and microwave design coursework. Experience with modern simulation tools and be able to learn new microwave design software such as ADS. Basic knowledge of transistors, amplifiers, switches, and other microwave components. Some experience with hands-on board level tuning and optimization of matching networks. Experience with microwave measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters is a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing packages is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long lasting partnerships. Fluency in spoken and written English
