Position Summary The
Facility Maintenance Technician
position is general labor in nature. Under the supervision of the Facility Maintenance Manager, Facility Maintenance Technicians assist in various maintenance and event operations related tasks. In the absence of the Facility Maintenance Manager, Facility Maintenance Technicians may receive instruction from the Production Director or the AGM/Facilities Supertiendant.
This role pays an hourly rate of $17.50-$23.00

About the Venue Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center
Complex & Municipal Auditorium located in Charleston West Virginia boasts 529,000 sq.ft. including a 13,500 seat arena, 100,000 sq.ft. of meeting space with the largest room of 72,400 sq.ft, 50,000 sq.ft. of exhibit space, a 25,000 sq.ft. ballroom with ample pre-function spaces, 760 seat theater, and a 3,400 seat auditorium. The Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center hosts a variety of events, including sporting events, world-class entertainment, conventions, meetings, banquets, and other social events.
Responsibilities
Perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance of the facility and equipment
Work from general instructions and specifications, with minimal supervision
Operate a wide variety of equipment used in the maintenance of the facility such as saws, drills, torches, sanders, cutters, grinders and other maintenance equipment
Drive vans, pick-up trucks, forklifts, high-lifts, floor scrubbers, and other vehicles as required
Grasp, hold, bend and twist a wide range of tools, equipment and materials
Assist in installing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and related equipment; mixing and matching paints, stains, and painting
Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes, valves, faucets, sinks, and other plumbing facilities; repair and maintenance of the facility to include chairs, tables, doors, windows and other articles and fixtures
Assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment; repair and maintenance of various other tools and equipment
Clean and organize work sites as directed
Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain cooperative-working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
High school diploma (or equivalent) required
Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software, general computer understanding of basic IT functions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must have availability to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
Solid problem solving skills
Possession of Universal CFC license preferred
Possession of Electrical License preferred
Engineering and Construction exerience preferred
