A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN HVAC APPRENTICE.
As an HVAC apprentice, you start each day ready to learn and grow within the industry. 2 days during the work week, you will be hands on training in our very own training facility. There will literature, videos, and teaching direction. The other 3 days you will be out in the field with a Sr. service tech going through the everyday of a service technician. You will be trained on proper procedures and also all the various equipment you will see. With-in 4-6 weeks, you will take your EPA test so that you will be licensed to handle refrigerant. Once you have passed the in class course, you will go out with a supervisor and run calls for one whole day. He will monitor the knowledge you learned and customer service side. Once he clears you, you will be on your own running routine HVAC maintenance. After that you will be going through some in house and ride along training to get better equipped to diagnose a failed system.
QUALIFICATIONS OF AN HVAC APPRENTICE High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning the HVAC trade Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and safety procedures Comfortable working in various weather conditions and confined spaces Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor Excellent communication and teamwork skills Willingness to follow instructions and learn from senior technicians Dependable, punctual, and eager to grow within the company
