Job Responsibilities Expand your nursing career with the Georgia Department of Public Health! We are actively recruiting for our Expanded-Role Registered Nurse position at our Specialty Care Clinic in Athens, Georgia. The Specialty Care Clinic is the primary provider of HIV/ Ryan White services for patients across the Northeast Health District's 10 counties: Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton. Expanded-role nurses are Registered Professional Nurses employed by Georgia Department of Public Health who have completed specialized training and meet all statutory and regulatory requirements. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Order, administer and/or dispense medications, including HIV medications and oral contraception Order and administer immunizations Perform cervical cancer screenings, breast, and pelvic exams Evaluation and treatment of sexually transmitted infections Insertion and removal of contraceptive implants Identify infections through microscopic exams (wet mounts) Screen and refer patients to community resources Collaborate with patients on health promotion and education activities

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working with culturally diverse and/or vulnerable populations, including sexual minorities and persons who have mental health or substance misuse disorders. We offer rigorous training and mentoring to help you become a successful Expanded Role Nurse. Also, training is continuous and based on best practices from evidence-based HIV guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university

AND

One year of nursing experience

AND

current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse

AND

CPR certification

OR

Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university

AND

Two years of nursing experience

AND

completion of a PHN course within one year of hire

AN D current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license

AND

CPR certification. Annual salary $70,158. Plus, generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.
