Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position requiring a MO or compact RN license and strong float capabilities.
Responsibilities Work in a short-term acute care hospital environment Float to Med Surg, Trauma, Oncology, Heart and Vascular, Neuro, Medicine and COVID units, and ED Holding/Boarding, excluding Women's/Infant and L&D Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 Shift is 4x12 hours nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Floating shifts to all inpatient areas within the facility as needed Every other weekend is required No on-call required EPIC is used for charting, and experience is required Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, floating between multiple specialty units within the hospital, and adapting to high-acuity settings Some units require primary nursing care Navy scrubs are required Expect to complete orientation modules before starting, which are compensated Return staff must have a one-year break after permanent employment at the facility RTO (requested time off) is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week All standard travelers must reside outside a 75-mile radius and can work for an 18-month period before a mandatory 3-month break Testing for fit requires appropriate facial hair grooming
Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience BCLS certification required IV start and telemetry skills required EPIC charting experience required Strong, independent clinical practice background necessary References from two supervisors within the past two years are preferred No local candidates within 75 mile radius will be accepted No first-time travelers will be considered
