Job Description

Under the direction of the supervisor and in alignment with established IT Communication practices and policies, key project management responsibilities include.

Project Planning and Monitoring : Assisting managers and technical leadership in creating and maintaining project plans, monitoring progress, measuring success, and disseminating project information to stakeholders for transparency and alignment.

Resource Development : Collaborating with Communications Group managers to identify resource needs, ensuring projects are completed on time while maintaining efficiency.

Contractor Coordination : Working closely with contractors to ensure compliance with University standards and that contracted groups perform as required to meet project objectives.

Personnel Supervision:

Supervising designated personnel as required to ensure effective team performance and adherence to project goals.

Responsibilities

Implement and coordinate multiple OIT Telecommunications systems Collaborate in planning, research, & installation of Communications systems Analyze current projects and provide solutions to problems Identify network & communications requirements for existing and new construction Conduct design meetings with Architects, designers and departments on campus Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma, technical certifications Experience:

2 years' experience as an IT Project manager 5 years experience in the telecommunications industry with experience managing IT projects such as data wiring, fiber optics, 802.11(x) wireless, construction, etc. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of Telecommunications Construction Advanced Communication Skills Intermediate analytical and technological skills Advanced ability to manage priorities and organizational skills Ability to build relationships with co-workers and users Ability to learn new skills or techniques Advanced ability to take initiative Preferred Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor Degree Project Management Professional Certification Experience:

5 years of field experience in the design, installation and maintenance of communications infrastructure including construction discipline for IT infrastructure. Work Location :

Office of Innovative Technologies, Communications Group provides IT layer 1 infrastructure including cooper and fiber optic infrastructure. Services include telephony, classroom technology, digital signage, IPTV, CCTV installation and maintenance, 400 Mhz radios and cellular DAS.
