Accounting Clerk - AP & Payroll (Part-Time, On-Site)

Location: Gurnee, Illinois Schedule: 24 hours per week (on-site only) Pay: $22-$25 per hour, based on experience

Position Summary:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to support one of our clients in a fully on-site, part-time capacity. This role will primarily focus on Accounts Payable and Payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests

Prepare and issue payments to vendors in a timely manner

Reconcile AP transactions and resolve discrepancies

Assist with bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll processing

Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and AP matters

Support month-end closing activities related to AP and payroll

File and maintain financial documents in accordance with company policies

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred

3+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or payroll

Payroll experience preferred

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information:

This is a part-time position (24 hours per week)

On-site attendance is required; remote work is not available for this role

No benefits are provided due to the part-time nature of the position
