Position Summary:
As a Product Development Technician, you will be w orking within the Product Development Team and directly with Owner, assist the company in developing and launching new product to the Private Label and Contract Sales channel as well as managing current products.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop, edit and review master formula sheets prior to manufacturing
Set up new items and BOM’s in MRP/ERP system
Source new and existing raw materials and packaging for projects as needed
Set up formula costing and customer proposals; research and data entry of raw material costs
Request ingredients and prepare prototypes for customer review
Assist with managing stability program
Learn label regulations and review customer labels and communicate feedback
Trouble-shooting and problem solving on formulation or other product development issues
Communicating and problem solving with other departments to support them as needed
Trouble-shooting and problem solving on formulation or other product development or quality control issues
Maintain product development documentation, tracking information and communicating project progress to team
Prepare specification sheets for new and existing products internally and externally
Chase various resources both internal and external for status, work through obstacles and report status to the team
Stay abreast of industry news, trade shows, periodicals, trends, FDA communications and industry regulations
Work with other departments in communicating product information and new product launches
Using your expert knowledge and industry experience, research trends and product information
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills & Requirements:
Strong math, written and verbal communication, proof reading and attention to detail required
Use a personal computer, various MS software;
Ability to multi-task and professionally interact with all levels of the organization and customers
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Position is in an office environment.
Position will require entry to GMP and controlled areas with specific dress code requirements.
Position will require some walking, standing and sitting.
Being able to sit for long periods of time.
