Description

HeartShare St. Vincent's Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program provides 38 unaccompanied minors, ages 5-12, with a supportive, nurturing environment through transitional foster homes, educational services Monday - Friday, and supportive wrap-around services in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Our program is committed to ensuring that service delivery is trauma-informed, culturally appropriate, and tailored to the needs of each child while complying with all ORR program requirements.

Nuevo Camino is seeking a clinician who will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing individualized evidence-based treatment for children and providing crisis intervention as needed for children enrolled in the Unaccompanied Minor Program. The clinician will also be responsible for facilitating group and family therapy sessions.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:

The position is Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. Please note, this is an in-person job and commuting to Sunset Park will be required. Uses positive approaches when handling difficult situations. Ability to adapt to change and a fast-moving work environment. Participates in on-site trainings and workshops to foster professional growth and development. Attends external trainings and workshops at direction of management. Conducts assessments, standardized sessions, and develops individualized treatment plans. Facilitates group and family sessions. Participates in individual and group supervision and training to build professional growth, ensure accountability, and quality services for children in the Unaccompanied Minor Program Completes documentation in compliance with the Office of Mental Health, state, federal and HMO regulations. Provides crisis intervention services as needed. Works collaboratively with collateral contacts, team members, and internal and external providers and documents all contacts accordingly. Maintains a weekly schedule and completes all documentation in a timely manner. Participate in agency-wide and internal meetings, activities and training. Qualifications

Bilingual in Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and speak proficiently. Required New York State License in one of the following professions:Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) / Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) / Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) / Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) / Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) Have background in mental health counseling with children/youth Interest in professional growth and for working with children who have been impacted by immigration Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team Ability to learn Electronic Health Record HSVS requires all new hires to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
