Description Join Lutheran Social Services (LSS) Fahrman Center and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals on their recovery journey. We're currently seeking a licensed Substance Abuse Counselor to join our dedicated residential treatment team at our 42-bed adult facility. This program provides evidence-based, client-centered addiction treatment for both men and women in a warm, home-like setting. Services include a wide range of therapeutic options, aftercare planning, family support, and halfway house programming. Schedule & Compensation Primarily Monday through Friday
Occasional evening hours may be required
Compensation based on licensure level
Key Responsibilities This role includes, but is not limited to: Delivering addiction counseling and case management services in outpatient or residential settings
Conducting assessments, diagnostics, screenings, and referrals using tools such as UPC, ASAM, AODA, SUDDs, DSM/ICD-10 (with appropriate supervision)
Providing Employment Specialist services when needed
Completing documentation in accordance with state, federal, and agency standards
Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions
Communicating effectively with internal teams and external partners
Participating in outreach and public education efforts
Coordinating comprehensive case management and connecting clients to community resources
Engaging in professional development through trainings, meetings, and clinical supervision
Ensuring services meet program, licensing, and contractual standards
Building and maintaining strong professional relationships
Serving as a positive role model for clients and families
Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria: Minimum 1 year of experience working with a correctional population (preferred or required based on contract)
Strong understanding of addiction recovery, counseling, and case management principles
Ability to learn and apply relevant regulations governing SUD services
Valid SAC license from WI DSPS
Certifications & Requirements
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Satisfactory motor vehicle record per LSS Driver Safety Procedure
Ability to meet LSS auto insurance standards
Valid SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC credential
Travel Expectations
Up to 25% local day travel
Occasional overnight travel may be required
